Why do I always have to reconnect my wifi lightbulb to Lumia every time I open it?

No matter what lightbulb I use, I always have to reconnect it to Lumia every new stream. It never just stays connected. Like, it’s there in my connections, but it won’t work unless I delete it then reconnect it. It’s super annoying, and I don’t know what to do to fix it. What do I do?

What brand is the bulb?

I currently have Lifx. I’ve used Govee, Wyze, and TP Link, which also does the same thing. I thought it was a problem with those light bulbs, so I went for a more expensive brand, and it still does it.

Sounds like your router is restarting every 24 hours and giving the lights new IPs.
Go into your router’s settings and give the light devices a static IP

But it’s still functionable with my Alexa and doesn’t disconnect from that. If it was constantly given new IPs, wouldn’t I have to reconnect with Alexa every day, too??

Alexa is not using the ethernet network. The way Alexa works is different to Lumia Stream.

Ok. I know how to access the settings of my modem router, but I don’t see anything for static IP or for DHCP. Would there be something else I should be looking for??

You typically have a network list that shows all your connected devices, and from there, you should be able to adjust the settings.

However, this often depends on your internet service provider (ISP), as some ISPs restrict user access to certain configurations.

Given the vast number of different routers available, I can’t provide specific instructions for locating these settings on each one.

Ok. I will try to find out if I can change anything from the connected devices list. Thanks!!
